Magaluf Newsletter - MAY 2008

Well we are almost there, Summer time in Magalluf and Palma Nova.

The weather seems to be improving and more tourists are arriving as we speak and the beaches are looking fantastic.
It felt that the winter was here to stay but you can now turn the heaters of at night and start to wear some of those new summer clothes during the day instead of those jumpers and jeans and thick winter coats.
So if you haven't booked just yet now is the time, come on down Mallorca is ready!

As we are now in May the summer season is about to begin, there are plenty of people around, already creating a great atmosphere in and around Magaluf. Reports are coming in, saying that this year will be fantastic with plenty of new things going on through out the resorts.

If you are looking for the night life don’t look any further…….

Welcome to the Magalluf Strip! (Also know as Punta Ballena Magaluf)

This is the famous part of Magalluf where you find most of the bars, shops and restaurants.
It is approximate about one kilometer long with a nice angle going upwards to the top of Torrenova.
So its best to start at the bottom and work your way up to the top, this will make it easier for you to just stroll back down to your destination. The party is in full swing during the day and nights with plenty too offer for every ones taste. You will find a great selection of shops, bars and clubs and for those that are hungry there are plenty of restaurants and take away to feed a whole army.

The rest of Magaluf and Palma Nova are well worth exploring as there are many places of interest and things to do such as the Upside Down House Katmandu (Magalluf) and Fantasia Crazy Golf (Palma Nova). You will find some great deals at the souvenirs shops or a new outfit at one of the boutiques. Of course check out our relevant pages for more information.

Workers 2008 in and around Magalluf and Palma Nova

Most of you know by now that the Calvia Council has stopped all the dynamic Pr's and Promotion teams working in the holiday resorts spread out through the Municipality of Calvia. This includes Santa Ponca, Paquera, Magalluf, Palma Nova and Portals Nous. According to the figures of the Calvia Council this means around 150 legal jobs less.
Becoming a Pr during the summer months was a job well sought after by many as it involved the perfect job, sleep during the day on the beach while getting a tan, work during the evening with free drinks supplied and party until the early morning hours, and this would go on for approximate 6 months.

Don’t worry too much as the bar and club owners still need their usual staff, such as Bartenders, Jelly shot Girls, Dancers and Dj's. And besides the typical bar work there are many shops and restaurants in Magaluf and Palma Nova that will have some positions open, either in the kitchen or as a waitress.

Latest Magaluf Video Clips

On the two video clips you can see the Famous Magalluf Strip. Both recordings took place in the beginning of March 2008.

The clip on the left shows you that there is still heavy building going on in the beginning of March. This building work started last year after the Calvia Council agreed to the Pirates Dinner Adventure Show to build a Pirates themed beach restaurant on the then temporary parking lot that was situated just of the strip in between The Crystal Bar and Mambo's.

It will be a major improvement and a nice asset as it has created a nice plaza where you can either try out the new Pirate Burger or chill out and watch the world go while soaking up the Mallorca sun.

The other clip shows you the view coming from the middle of the Magaluf Beach walking towards the Strip. The building that you can see at the end of the street coming of the beach is the Office of Tourism from the Calvia Town Council. Here they speak English and can help you with any query you might have.
