How to get to Es Trenc Mallorca
You can travel to Es Trenc by hire car or by public transport. Interestingly, most Mallorcans put pressure on the government to leave Es Trenc untouched so that it is not spoilt by mass commercialism and development. The result of this is a breathtaking area of natural beauty, and it is well worth spending a day or two in Es Trenc if you have the time. Es Trenc is clearly marked on the on tourist maps which seems to be available in most hotels and tourist towns on the island.
From Palma follow signs after the airport (motorway) to Llucmajor and Campos del Puerto. There is a five-way junction in the centre of Campos del Puerto. Leave in the direction of Colonia de Sant Jordi and at the crossroads (with Les Salines to the right) continue onwards until a sign to Es Trenc appears to the left. On the narrow tarmac road follow the brown holiday location style signs past the salt mountains and salt lakes to a pay car park at the East end of the beach.
There are hotels nearby which offer ferry boats directly to the beach, which are necessary if you don’t have a car and want to avoid a walk.
Remember your sun cream if you are visiting Es Trenc – it can be quite windy, but the sun is very hot during the spring and summer months. The water is clear and warm and shelves very gently into the sea making access very easy, though a little walk to get to swimming depth. The sand is good for castle-building. Both features make it great for families. The beach is prone to seaweed being washed-up, but it is cleaned regularly, and the crystal clear waters and relaxing landscapes more than make up for it.
