DJ Des Mitchell

A man that hardly needs any introduction in the world of dance music, especially right here in Magaluf. Ladies and gentlemen…Des Mitchell!

Des Mitchell started as a DJ at the early age of 14 and kicked of his career in Birmingham. Des Mitchell’s first major breakthrough happened when he started at the BBC with his own soul, dance & reggea radio show in Birmingham, for three years. In 1985 Des went to Tenerife and from there it all went to another level for DJ Des Mitchell. January 1989 he left Tenerife for Canada and even worked for a local radio station C.I.U.T. and played in the many clubs in and around Toronto.
June 1989 He became the resident DJ of the BCM Planet Dance Nightclub in Magaluf Mallorca and was the resident Dj there from 1989 up to 2003, Des has not only worked alongside some of the best spinners in the world but also has become a very respected name among them, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Roger Sanchez, Judge Jules, Paul Van Dyk & even Mallorca’s DJ Sammy to name just a few.

Summer 2003 & Des became the resident Dj in the Club Eden, Ibiza but such is the love he had for the club he still managed to come back once or twice a week to BCM in Magaluf.
Of course Des & his music has traveled to many other wonderful clubs and places around the globe apart from most countries through Europe Des had club residencies in Japan, Korea, Singapore, Miami USA, Taiwan, India and South Africa. From 2002 in his career he was the resident Dj for the Ministry of Sound London, Thailand, Taiwan & Singapore and also lived & played in one of the most expensive club ever constructed in Tokyo called The Velfarre Nightclub where he stayed the year 1995 & went back in 99 for the club refurb party & did another 3 months.

Lucky for us that Des Mitchell has his home residency in Mallorca and for 2010 he is part of the opening of the all new firing fresh Pacha Mallorca Night club.The new Pacha club will open their doors around mid June. Most likely you wont just see Des in one club as you could see him play the tunes in any of the bars in Magaluf alongside friends or even at one of the oh so famous boat parties. It’s a definite treat to see him at work as this man lives for the music and loves what he does.

Des Mitchell is soon to bring out some brand new tunes in 2010 starting with ‘Wanna see you Dance’ coming on Metrogroove records. of course every one still knows his classic tune from 1999/2000… Welcome To The Dance!
